Sangha is a Buddhist companion app published by Nava Bodhi Sangha. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

What We Collect

1. Language Preference

Sangha stores your selected language (English, Hindi, or Marathi) locally on your device using your phone's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device.

2. User Account (Optional)

If you choose to sign in (via Google or email OTP), we store:

• Your display name (optional, used for greeting)
• Email address (for authentication only)
• Practice data (streak, likes, preferences) — synced to our cloud database

You can use the app as a guest without signing in. Guest data stays on your device only.

3. AI Companion Messages

When you use the AI Companion feature, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. These messages are processed by Anthropic in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not store your conversation history on our servers — it exists only in the app's memory for the duration of your session and is cleared when you close the app.

4. Push Notifications (Optional)

If you enable push notifications, we use OneSignal to deliver daily reminders and content updates. OneSignal assigns a device identifier for delivery purposes. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

5. Analytics

Firebase Analytics is currently disabled in the app. If we enable analytics in a future update, we will update this policy and provide an opt-in/opt-out mechanism before any data collection begins.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use advertising or ad-related tracking.
• We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third parties.
• We do not access your device's camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
• We do not collect financial or payment information through the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Guest users: All data is stored locally on your device and deleted when you uninstall the app.
• Signed-in users: Account data is stored in our cloud database. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email addresses listed above.
• AI conversations: Not stored. Cleared at end of each session.

Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR and India's DPDPA), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Data portability

Children's Privacy

Sangha is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.
