By downloading or using the Sangha app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. About Sangha

Sangha is a free Buddhist companion app published by Nava Bodhi Sangha. It provides daily wisdom, mantras, stories, teachings, and an AI companion across multiple Buddhist traditions (Theravada, Mahayana, Zen, Tibetan, and Navayana).

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

3. Use of the App

You may use Sangha for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree to:

Use the app respectfully and in accordance with its intended purpose
Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the app
Not use the AI Companion to generate harmful, offensive, or misleading content
Not scrape, copy, or bulk-download content from the app

4. Content

The Buddhist teachings, quotes, stories, mantras, and other content in Sangha are provided for educational and spiritual purposes. While we strive for accuracy across all traditions, this content:

Is not a substitute for guidance from qualified teachers or monastics
May represent one interpretation among many within a tradition
Should not be used as the sole basis for important life decisions

Translations include the original language text in brackets for verification by scholars and practitioners.

5. AI Companion (Karuna)

The AI Companion feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. Please note:

AI responses are generated and may contain errors
The AI is not a qualified Buddhist teacher or counsellor
Conversations are not stored on our servers and are cleared when you close the app
Do not share sensitive personal information with the AI

6. User Accounts

You may use Sangha as a guest or create an account via Google Sign-In or email OTP. If you create an account:

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us

7. Intellectual Property

The Sangha app, its design, icons, and original content are the property of Nava Bodhi Sangha. Buddhist texts and traditional teachings are in the public domain. Gallery images are provided for personal use only.

8. Availability

We strive to keep Sangha available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The app may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

Sangha is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Nava Bodhi Sangha shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Significant changes will be communicated through the app.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
